100% waterproof

I have had my Viking Boots for 8 months and have used them mainly for walking and dog walking, they are without doubt the best boots that I have ever owned. If you want light, flexible, comfortable and 100% water tight boots then don't look any farther they are also good for most terrains

These are my first pair of Hotter shoes[...]. The shoes themselves are very well made and actually "Made in England" something that the famous [...] shoemakers can no longer say.Overall an excellent shoe, and yes they are not the cheapest Gore-Tex boots out there, but the price paid reflects the quality.

I have the unfortunate problem of very small feet for a man with a wide fitting which means I usually buy size seven and wear thick socks. A general comment about men's Hotter shoes are there is no six and half size in most of their range further to that no extra wide fitting in a six in any of the range that I could see. It would be good to be able to buy shoes that fit, why not provide a made to measure service? You might be surprised at the response. That all said I like the workmanship and with thick walking socks never have cold feet and the gortex lining keeps them dry too.

You can walk all day in these boots. The soles began to crack after many miles, but were replaced f.o.c. I wear only Hotter shoes because every pair I have bought so far has fitted me perfectly.

I was bought these as a gift from my partner, as Autumn is coming which means rain, and I suppose in winter there could be snow. I also wanted a sturdy shoe or boot as I tend to walk a lot for exercise for up to two hours a day sometimes. So my first criteria is comfort, and these certainly are very, very, comfortable. the leather is sturdy and well stitched but also soft and somewhat pliable. They are also light in weight. My ankles feel well supported and these boots have a thick padded feel to them so they wont blister my feet or my ankle. Ok so thats the plus side but there is only one downside and that is the sole is a sort of rubberised plastic, at least thats what it feels like. I am, therefore, not sure these boots would be good for mountaineering up craggy rocks, but I am fairly certain they will be good for wandering over farmland and rolling hills and dales. I am uncertain as to whether the soles will wear quite quickly on concrete. That is why I gave the boots 4 stars not 5 but will update this after wearing them a few weeks. Overall I really love them but I have worn them only twice so far and only on carpet in the house. I feel they are definitely worth the money. If they were a slightly lower price I would have said they were a bargain. I think they are bang on the price tho. so 4/5 but just because I want to see how the soles perform, otherwise absolutely no negatives whatsoever.

I would have liked to have given 5 stars. Being diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in the hips, doctor suggested "Hotter" shoes, I said, "What stick my shoes in the oven for half an hour in the morning?"...anyway I purchased a pair of Vulcan shoes from a local retailer in September 2012, and had to change them in January 2013 as the soles below the balls of the feet had cracked right across, whilst in the the shop swapping for a new pair I also purchased a pair of the Viking boots, and now these have started to crack, and it's only February, I see on these reviews for the Viking Boot, that another has mentioned, cracking too. It's a shame, as they are well made a very comfortable, but a definite flaw, as far as the manufacture of the sole. These boots and shoes are not cheap and I would have liked to have recommended them, but at this stage I'm afraid I cannot. As a foot note, I have also purchased from this site a pair of the slippers...they are fine, at the moment.

I've used these boots almost everyday for 2 years walking the dogs over the Dorset hills, often in very wet grass. Not once have my feet got wet; wonderful! And they are so comfortable one can walk and walk. BUT the soles are now cracking up and generally corrupting which is a great disappointment and makes me very dubious about buying a second pair. If the soles had lasted longer I would have awarded 5 stars but can only award 3. Come on Hotter improve the soles.

These boots are really comfortable and I have virtually lived in them since buying in April it's such a shame that the soles have let them down,they have several splits in them around the tread patterns right through to the insole.
I do a lot of walking and have found them to be brilliant just hope they can sort out soles and I will buy another pair

I'm looking for a waterproof boot that's a good fit and quality for a reasonable price. I have looked at this boot and although meeting the waterproof, fit and comfort criteria, lacing them using the top hooks causes the laces to ride up over the top of the tongue. Soles being one piece, not sure of there durability. Particularly in respect of the lacing design and likely non-repairable sole I regard the boot as overpriced, which is a shame, and in the end did not buy.
